9 Stupidly Risky Plans From TV's Most Notorious Villains

1. Cersei Gets Robert Drunk For A Hunting 'Accident' €“ Game Of Thrones

Of all the plans on this list, this is possibly the most audacious, seeing as it's a bonafide regicide (which would also be a great name for a rap group). Come the time of this dastardly plan, chief villainess Cersei Lannister is in something of a pickle €“ the Hand Of The King Ned Stark has found out her children were born of incest, and is going to tell the King. However, in a typical Ned Stark move, he tells Cersei to her face what his exact plans are, allowing her to launch a gambit of her own €“ killing her husband before the truth can ever come out. How she manages this is incredibly risky €“ knowing her cuckolded husband is a drunkard who's about to go hunting, she gives her cousin (and the King's squire) Lancel Lannister stronger wine than usual, knowing Robert will chug it down and thus become stupid. And it all goes to plan, with the King ending up more blasted than usual, missing a swing at a giant boar and getting gored for his trouble. It's an audacious move because it looks like an accident, and it means she can tip the game of thrones back into her favour by getting her hellspawn Joffrey installed on the throne. Granted, it's a masterful bit of manipulation €“ and probably the cleverest thing Cersei has done, and will ever do €“ but it's insanely, staggeringly risky. Taking into account the utterly random nature of a hunt and the fact that even when he's even if he's truly gazeboed and fat, Robert is still capable of swinging a weapon as only a renowned war hero can, there was an extremely high chance that the King could've returned from his hunt un-tusked. However, though she must be aware of this, Cersei doesn't even leave the capital covertly €“ she stays exactly where she's always been, and pins her fate to a wing, a prayer and a boar. She must've been the luckiest and most relieved woman in Westeros when she found out her bonkers plan actually worked. Know of any more ridiculous villain plans? Comment below!
