9 Times The Simpsons Predicted The Future
8. Holograms; Holograms Everywhere
Elsewhere on the unnamed universitys campus, there's a malfunctioning tree hologram which was apparently planted in memory of a real tree. It flickers and stutters, until one enterprising student gives the thing a hearty whack with a right boot
Holograms are, of course de rigeur at pretty much any major cultural event these days: there was Tupac at Coachella in 2012 (well, a Peppers Ghost version of Tupac if were being specific), then Eazy-Es non-corporeal form ventured onstage with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and DJ Yella and Ol' Dirty Bastard rejoined Wu Tang Clan in 2013.
All very impressive, yes, but over at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, projection artists the Beambrothers managed to create a luminous, revolving 30-foot Christmas tree which appeared to hang in the air inside the museums entrance hall.
