9 Times The Simpsons Predicted The Future

7. The Good Morning Burger

The Good Morning Burger features in a very brief TV spot, describing it thus: "We take 18 ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham and a fried egg". This level of gastronomical extravagance was once so fanciful that people used to actually laugh at it.

Now, you'd probably feel short-changed if your burger features fewer than six things piled on top of each other. The burger is a side show. Granted, there's 18 ounces of the Good Morning Burger, but the fundamental fact of a burger having three types of meet and an egg on it is something we've all got used to over the years.

Bizarrely, none of the big burger giants€™ research and development departments have managed to engineer a way of fitting bacon, ham and a fried egg on top of a burger patty, but they have come very, very close indeed. In 2010, McDonald€™s introduced a successor to the fondly-munched Moon Burger - the Great Moon Burger - which featured a beef patty, bacon, a fried egg, and a sauce billed as €œtomato mayonnaise€. Sadly, it was only available in Japan. Perhaps it was just too cromulent for our Western palates.
