9 TV Shows That Left Huge Unanswered Questions Behind

1. Parks And Recreation: Did Leslie Really Become President?

The emotionally charged-finale to Parks and Recreation was filled with tear-jerking moments that revealed what became of the main cast after they left Pawnee. Their fates are clearly spelled out, with one notable exception.

The final episode merely hints that Leslie Knope goes on to fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming President of the United States. Inspired by The Sopranos, showrunner Mike Schur was keen to shroud her endgame in ambiguity.

Fans had come to root for Amy Poehler’s over-achieving deputy director over seven seasons, and wanted only good things for her, so many are desperate for a definitive answer to the question of whether she made it all the way to the White House.

There's compelling evidence she did. In a funeral flash-forward, she is being flanked by three serious-looking guys in suits and dark glasses, more than likely secret service agents. Sure, they could also pass for limo drivers, but who needs three of them?

In a later scene, Leslie mentions "a new, unknown challenge" after serving two terms as Indiana's governor, and that could feasibly be running for the highest office in the land, but still, there's room for other interpretations.

Even Poehler has kept mum on the subject when pressed in interviews, so the question of whether her character went on to fulfil her dream will likely never have an unequivocal answer.
