9 Upcoming TV Shows Based On Movies (That Will Probably Suck)

4. Training Day

The Exorcist TV
CBS

Training Day, which was released back in 2001, was a superb crime thriller. Written by David Ayer and directed by Antoine Fuqua (it's still the film he's best known for), it told the story of two LAPD narcotics officers in gang-ridden neighbourhoods. Denzel Washington won an Oscar for his role, with Ethan Hawke picking up a nomination.

The TV series will be set 15 years after the film, with Bill Paxton taking on the older, morally ambiguous officer role, with Justin Cornwell the idealistic rookie partnered with him.

It looks like it'll have a similar plotline to the first film, though quite how that'll work over an entire series - given the idea is that it's a training day - I'm not so sure. The trailer doesn't look too bad actually, but chances are this is just going to end up being pretty basic, by the numbers fare without the talent behind the film to elevate it.
