9 Upcoming TV Shows Based On Movies (That Will Probably Suck)

5. Lethal Weapon

The Exorcist TV
Fox

Lethal Weapon is a beloved franchise, with the first film marking the writing debut of the great Shane Black, but it was decreasing in quality even when the films were being made, with the last - number 4 - coming out back in 1998.

They were too old for that sh*t then, and Lethal Weapon is probably too old to work now.

The series stars Clayne Crawford as Riggs, and Damon Wayans as Murtagh, and will no doubt follow a similar path to the films: buddy cops have to take down a bad guy, complete with action, mishaps, and wisecracks.

It remains to be seen if Wayans and Crawford can recreate the chemistry of Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, and while the films are fun, fast, and furious, the beauty is that they're only a couple of hours long, not multiple episodes, meaning it might not translate all that well.
