9 Worst TV Show Fake-Out Deaths

4. Tony's Missed Artery - 24

Generally, if you’re an actor on 24 and you’re not Kiefer Sutherland, you shouldn’t assume you’ll last long. 24 has a long, illustrious history of wiping out fan favourite characters, and over the course of 9 seasons it racked up one hell of a body count.

It looked like Tony Almeida was added to that list too, with Jack’s long-time CTU colleague meeting a tragic end in season five. He’s stabbed in the heart by his wife’s killer and soon dies in Jack’s arms; not a great day for Tony there. However, since he didn’t receive a silent clock – the show’s sign of respect for a fallen hero – fans refused to buy it, even when he’s carried away in a body bag in the next episode.

The creators must have grown tired of fan complaints since he’s revealed to be alive in season seven. This resurrection stretched believability to the max - something about a "missed" artery - and the show rushes past the explanation for his non-death. It was nice to have him back, but it cost 24 some cred.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
