Doctor Who: 20 Things You Didn’t Know About A Christmas Carol

16. Arthur Darvill Gets An Upgrade

Doctor Who A Christmas Carol
BBC Studios

The man behind the loveable Rory Williams was largely absent from the first half of Series 5, before picking up more regular roles towards the end of its run. Most of them involved him dying, but they still count!

He's not in A Christmas Carol much, but he'd clearly become an integral part of this TARDIS team by this point.

As a result, Arthur Darvill's name appears in the show's opening credits for the very first time, making him the sixteenth different actor to appear in NuWho opening title sequences.

Making the title sequence is nothing to sniff at, but if Darvill could've chosen when to make his debut, he probably would've picked an episode where he had a little bit more to do!
