Doctor Who: The Star Beast Review - 9 Ups And 3 Downs

9. UP - Beep The Meep

Doctor Who The Star Beast David Tennant Fourteenth Doctor
BBC Studios

Beep The Meep is a character that those of us who have delved into Doctor Who’s expanded media have been very excited to see translated to screen, along with the shock reveal of this adorable fiend’s true nature.

Miriam Margolyes absolutely does this fan-favourite justice, selling both the adorable, fuzzy version of The Meep, and the psychopathic maniac hidden within, to great effect.

Due to limited runtime and a lot of elements to introduce, the villains in ‘new Doctor’ episodes tend to be lacking. The Meep was an inspired choice here, leaving a lasting impression in terms of uniqueness and also its central twist, without much groundwork needing to be laid.

Also, that car park courtroom scene was great fun, and we appreciate the entirely unnecessary wig that Fourteen pulled out for the occasion.
