And it's not just the villains from the Captain America films that return, as in episode five The Iron Curtain, Cap's wartime squad of loyal men, the Howling Commandos, teamed up with Peggy to travel to Russia and take on Leviathan.
However, apart from the gang's leader Dum-Dum Dugan, you might not have noticed that the line-up is quite different from that in The First Avenger, with new members including Pinky Pinkerton, Happy Sam Sawyer and Junior Juniper - all of whom are derived from the comics.
In a more specific in-joke, In this episode Juniper is killed by a young Russian girl trained by the Red Room Academy (more on that later). In the comics, within a few issues of the Sgt. Fury And The Howling Commandos series in 1963, the team's debut, Juniper died - in fact, becoming the first named Marvel character to be killed off.
