The inclusion of the Inhumans on the TV show was a pretty big deal, due to the fact that theres a film about them due out in around four years. While elements of the MCU have fed into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, this is the first occasion of it happening the other way round, and shows that Marvel are placing a lot of faith in the show. Aside from the long-term impact on the film side, it works well both in the current season of the show, and to lay groundwork for future developments as well. Chloe Bennett really steps up to the plate as Skye tries to come to terms with her new powers, while the new characters, in particular Jiaying and Lincoln, really helped to establish what the Inhumans are. They were the major driving point for the plot, and the reveal that Skye is actually Daisy Johnson/Quake was a great development for the show, and they made the most of her practising and using her powers. With the film due out in 2019, and the Terrigen crystals being put into fish oil capsules, theres going to be a lot more to come from the Inhumans, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is going to be leading the way on that front, which can only be a good thing for the show.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
