2. The Reveal Of Skyes Parents - Up
Who is Skyes father? That was the big mystery of the first season, and one the second quickly got around to addressing. Turns out her father is Kyle MacLachlan. He plays The Doctor (not that one), who is a surgeon to the underworld, an expert in the Diviner, and someone with major anger issues. His story dovetails with that of Skyes, as he just wants to get his daughter back, and her becoming an Inhuman. This also leads to the discovery that Skyes mother, Jiaying, is still alive, and shes the one who looks after the new Inhumans. While it is initially set-up so that she appears as the good parent, and Cal the bad one, there is an excellent, slow reveal that its actually the other way around. Having built the mystery of her parents up, the show needed to deliver and it did that and then some, in particular with the introduction of MacLachlan, who turned out to be comic-book character Calvin Zabo/Mr Hyde, and is fantastic at the insane-yet-caring father who really just wants to reunite with his daughter.
