Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D: 6 Ups And 4 Downs From Season 2
10. MCU Cameos - Up
The show is very much a part of the larger Marvel world, however its unlikely that the likes of Thor and Iron Man are going to be popping up anytime soon. Theyd struggle to fit it in the budget for a start, but also it probably wouldnt feel like a natural part of the story and more a case of Look! Avengers! In that regard, the cameos of other Marvel characters have on the whole been very well judged on the show, and the two best this season were Agent Peggy Carter and Lady Sif. Both of them felt like they served a purpose beyond just being a cool cameo, with Peggy acting as a link between the old and new Hydra, and tying in with the Obelisk, while Sif was important for outlining the history of Kree and Inhumans. Of course a part of Peggys appearance was to set up Agent Carter, but it didnt feel at all forced and it's always great to see Hayley Atwell in the role, and the same can be said of Jaime Alexander as Lady Sif.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
