Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D: 6 Ups And 4 Downs From Season 2

9. Age Of Ultron Tie-In - Down

While the smaller character appearances from elsewhere in the Marvel canon were a success, the same cannot be said of its big movie tie-in this year. Connecting to The Winter Soldier in season 1 was a turning point for the show, the time when it started to get really interesting and feel like you were watching something Marvel, as opposed to just a generic show about secret agents. The film it was a part of this year was even bigger, Avengers: Age Of Ultron, but it certainly wasn€™t better. The mention that it was Coulson responsible for the Theta Protocol and the helicarrier that saved the Avengers towards the end of the movie was a nice moment for any fans of the film wondering how that happened, but ultimately felt like a forced moment and one that didn€™t really serve any purpose for the show.
