I am not suggesting that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. lose the charm prevalent throughout all of the Marvel offerings Im merely suggesting that the show ramp up the stakes. Yes, this small team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents isnt likely to save the world, but having them take out real threats and placing their lives on the line to save civilians seems like a good way to get people more invested in what happens to this team. By contrast, having the team sent to a Peruvian jungle to fight some random just introduced military personnel doesnt scream riveting drama.
Lose the constant bickering between Fitz and Simmons as it has done nothing for the show so far and it isnt as funny as the writers seem to think it is. Humor has a big place in this show, as ABC has marketed it to be family friendly, but the humor needs to be smarter.
