3. Melinda May
Who She Is: Melinda May also known as the Cavalry is the most effective S.H.I.E.L.D. agent on the show. She has extensive experience and has shown proficiency with all kinds of combat. Shes the right hand of Director Coulson. Why She Could Die: The biggest clue that May could be the body in the Quinjet is simply that May is the only main cast S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot who is going to be around once Bobbi heads off to her spinoff. May has frequently worn a jacket with the S.H.I.E.L.D. insignia as seen on the arm of the body in the Quinjet. From a narrative perspective, killing May would be the closest that the show could come to killing the lead without actually killing the lead. Her death would raise the stakes without necessarily immediately driving off the audience. Who wouldnt want to stick around to see the rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. avenge Agent May? Why She Might Not: May is perhaps the most awesome character of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and shes been a grounding presence. Coulson has had a wild ride, but May has kept her head. Killing her could be bad for the show in the long run.
