14. Who Are The Bad Guys?

For all anyone knows, Hydra are still out there and more or less as powerful as ever (give or take a few high-powered helicarriers), so Coulson and his team will still have to watch themselves come the beginning of season 2. The Big Bad from the first season was a mysterious entity known as the Clairvoyant, who turned out to be Agent John Garrett, old war buddy of Coulson and head of the Centipede/Deathlok program designed to create cyborg super-soldiers. Garrett ended up getting incinerated by Coulson in the season finale, but his deputy Raina and co-conspirator/arms dealer Ian Quinn made it out alive and will no doubt be causing trouble for Director Coulson's new SHIELD. There are also of course some more traditional comic book villains set to appear, such as Crusher Creel aka Absorbing Man (guess what he does!), who's been teased in promotional photos for season 2. Let's not forget Graviton, who experienced his painful origin in season 1's third episode but has yet to make his antagonistic debut. But seeing as Quinn made such a fuss about getting his Gravitonium back at the tail end of the season, we'd say it's a pretty safe bet he'll be showing up in full force sooner rather than later.
