Agents Of SHIELD: 20 Easter Eggs And In-Jokes You Probably Missed

18. The Blizzard

In the episode Seeds, which features the S.H.I.E.L.D. academy that Fitz/Simmons attended, one of the students who attempts to get the dynamic duo€™s attention by messing with the weather and giving themselves ice powers is named Donnie Gill, which is coincidentally also the real name of an old Iron Man villain who uses the slightly cooler (ahem) handle Blizzard. The comic Blizzard (who€™s actually the second of his name, having taken the title from its recently-vaporised originator) was hired by Justin Hammer to cause trouble for Tony Stark, and used a temperature-manipulating suit to create ice that he could slide on and attack people with (not unlike a certain slightly higher-profile character that Marvel doesn€™t currently have the movie or TV rights to), as opposed to the TV version€™s somehow more ridiculous €˜internal temperature change€™ origin story (which is an even closer analogue to the powers of one Mr. B. Drake).
