17. Triplett's Grandfather Was A Howling Commando
Antoine Triplett supplies the gang with tech from his family and casually drops in the information that his grandfather served in the Howling Commandos, an elite, multi-ethnic army squad led by Nick Fury in the comics and Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as seen in Captain America: The First Avenger. It seems pretty easy to guess which Howling Commando Tripletts related to, as there was only ever one black member of the team: Gabe Jones. That said, some fans have speculated that he could be the seed of another Commando, and there are probably dozens of incredibly comic-booky explanations out there for exactly how that would work. Tripletts HC connections could lead to interesting story places if hes sticking around as a series regular for season 2, and may well have been dropped in the show to serve as set-up for crossovers with the new Agent Carter series (which, being a period show, Tripletts grandpappy could easily show up in) or a future Captain America story that deals with his time in the team.
