Agents Of Shield: 5 Fan Theories On Skye's Identity
5. She-Hulk
This rumour seems to have exploded after Chloe Bennet (the actress who plays Skye in the show) said the following: "Before it was like 'who are my parents?' and now it's 'what am I? Am I an alien or am I a She-Hulk?'" Now before we get knee deep into the fan theories regarding this suggestion, in the same interview she makes it perfectly clear that she doesn't have any idea who Skye is going to be revealed as. That being said, you have to wonder if she knows whether or not she has a clause in her contract that would require her to be painted bright green on a recurring basis in the future of the show. But such application of make-up would also apply to a couple of the characters on this list. The argument against Skye being the She-Hulk is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe have never before utterly re-written the origins of a superhero (ignoring the Mandarin of course, who may yet turn out to be the real deal). But She-Hulk was the last Stan Lee creation for Marvel, so it seems unlikely that they would mess around with the character's background. The two main links that fans have pointed at to identify Skye as She-Hulk is that the alien enzyme she was injected to was green, and was called GH-325 fans have speculated that the G stood for gamma. This would link through to the She-Hulk's origin as in the comics she was created after receiving a gamma-irradiated blood transfusion from Bruce Banner. Another point to add is the recent casting announcement of Adrian Pasdar as Glenn Talbot a character who was effectively a Hulk hunter in the comic books. He's currently been hired simply for a single episode of the series, but are they introducing him now because they expect him to hunt down She-Hulk on the series in the future? Only time will tell.
