Agents Of Shield: 5 Fan Theories On Skye's Identity

4. Ms. Marvel

In the most recent episode of the series, Agent Coulson asks Lady Sif if she'd ever come across any blue aliens. She lists off a whole bunch, including the Kree... an interesting point as not only are they the best known alien out of those she mentioned, but there will be Kree character coming up in Guardians of the Galaxy later this year. Some fans have taken this as a sign to mean that the big blue corpse was in fact a Kree €“ which would immediately lead to the possibility that Skye might be Ms. Marvel because of the similar origin scenario. While there has been several characters in the comics using the title of Ms. Marvel, the best known is Carol Danvers. She was a member of the US Air Force who was caught in an explosion with Captain Marvel €“ a Kree. This resulted in her gaining superpowers after her DNA partially merged with his. In fact, she's currently called Captain Marvel in his honour. So given the possibility of a Kree blood transfusion, does this mean that Skye is therefore Ms. Marvel? Further fan speculation on the GH-325 title of the alien enzyme have extrapolated that the GH stands for Geheneris Hala'son, the name of the Ultimate Universe version of Captain Marvel. Not only this, but the Ultimate version of the character debuted in March 2005 €“ so is it a stretch to consider that this would a reference to the 325 by omitting the zeroes from the year? Naturally, this could make the blue alien corpse not only a Kree, but Captain Marvel (or Marh Vehl, depending on the Universe) himself? Of course there is one serious downside to this idea, which is something that Marvel couldn't have bargained on. That is the burgeoning fan campaign to have Katee Sackhoff appear on screen as the character in her own film. The major plot point to rule out Skye as Ms. Marvel is that the S.H.I.E.L.D. character had the 084 designation as a baby €“ long before the supposed Kree blood transfusion. It would certainly be a massive coup for Marvel to have a female superhero in a solo film after DC wasn't convinced that a Wonder Woman film would be successful. Given that Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios' president) has recently suggested that a solo Ms. Marvel film is on the cards, do we think it would be likely to spin off from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or is it simply a better idea to go with what the fans want and put Sackhoff in the role instead?
