Agents Of Shield: 8 Things That Will Need To Change After Captain America 2

7. The End Of SHIELD

The most major implication for the series due to the recent Captain America film has to be the end of SHIELD €“ at least for the time being. After all, the executives in charge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are not going to take the risk that a film viewer will see Captain America: The Winter Soldier where SHIELD was revealed to be infiltrated by HYDRA and subsequently closed down, and then see the organisation already back to normal in the next Avengers film. This means that SHIELD is going to out of the equation until Avengers: Age of Ultron. Anything else would be confusing for viewers who only watch the films. Of course, SHIELD is a major part of Agents of SHIELD and removing it from show is going to have some drastic effects. For one, Coulson's team is going to have to go rogue in order to continue operating. There are seven episodes left in the current season, and the show cannot ignore the lack of SHIELD. But there is quite a lot to cover in those episodes soon €“ not only the secret to do with Skye's identity (as speculated here), but also the viewers are going to need to see who the Clairvoyant is at some point. It's likely that there are yet a couple of twists and turns to be seen, especially one related to Melinda May.
