Ahsoka Episode 2 Review - 5 Ups & 2 Downs

6. Down - The Story Didn't Particularly Move Forward

The second episode of Ahsoka picked up straight from the ending of the first, with Sabine in hospital being treated for her wound. In the fight against Shin Hati, Ahsoka's former and future Padawan lost the map, essentially putting her back to where she was when the series started.

Throughout the rest of the episode, the overarching narrative wasn't moved on particularly much. Hera and Chopper were able to put a tracker on an enemy ship, and Sabine and Ahsoka agreed to rekindle their master and apprentice relationship from before.

Other than this, though there was plenty of character development, the actual story stayed relatively static. There is still the MacGuffin for Ahsoka to chase, though this isn't the map anymore. At this point, it actually feels as though Thrawn himself is the MacGuffin. It's essentially a race to him between Ahsoka and Morgan.

This kind of episode isn't the worst thing in the world, so long as there is a payoff for it in the end, but for the time being this slower aspect to the second episode gets a tentative Down.
