Almost Human: 4 Things The Show Needs To Succeed In 2014

Almost Human debuted as one of the best new shows of 2013, and though it's definitely remained one of the most polished and entertaining programs, there's just something missing. Over the course of eight episodes, the show has unfortunately lost a bit of its initial charms. As a reviewer of the show I've found it increasingly difficult to find things to talk about from week to week, since each episode of the show has a hard time of standing out amongst the rest. I've even skipped recapping the last few episodes of the show altogether, not because I'm not watching, but because the show hasn't left a big enough impression on me to do so. Not all is lost, and I think there's definitely a great show in here somewhere. It's enjoyable, entertaining, funny, and well made, but never am I dying to see the next week's episode. And I'm afraid other viewers are being left with the same feelings, which will make it increasingly difficult for the show to succeed and avoid cancellation. It does air on Fox, after all, which hasn't been too kind to science fiction shows of the past. Without further ado, here's a breakdown of 4 things the show needs in order to make it in 2014...
