Almost Human: 4 Things The Show Needs To Succeed In 2014

2. A Villain

Your hero is only as good as your villain, and so far Almost Human doesn't have one. We've seen hints of a crime syndicate, but other than the pilot episode that plot thread has remained unexplored. Without someone to root against, we're left with more of an episodic case-by-case basis, where each episode we're given a new McGuffin or low-level crook to chase after for 45 minutes. A villain who is either tied to all of these crimes or somehow weaves in and out of the show periodically would be a step in the right direction and help us get invested in what's going on. So far, it feels more like a bunch of cool sci-fi ideas that just go nowhere.
