Altered Carbon Season 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
4. Anthony Mackie Makes For A Compelling Takeshi
Joel Kinnaman certainly did a rock solid job playing the re-sleeved Takeshi in the first season, and few were complaining when the ever-reliable Anthony Mackie was cast to replace him as season two's new Takeshi sleeve.
True to form, Mackie brings his typical brooding intensity to the role, even if it's undeniably underwritten and, as such, Mackie's often given little of interest to populate his performance with.
While there perhaps isn't a hugely noticeable continuity between Kinnaman and Mackie's performances, Mackie still commands the screen at almost all times, and helps keep the series afloat through some of its snoozier moments.
