Altered Carbon Season 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

3. The STUNNING Visuals

More than anything else, you cannot deny how utterly eye-wateringly beautiful the first season of Altered Carbon was.

Netflix reportedly spent a stonking $7 million per episode, and between the incredibly lived-in sets, first-rate visual effects, and exceptional cinematography, it was clear where the money was going.

Similarly, season two is an absolute technical marvel, and offers one of the most visually impressive 4K HDR presentations currently available on the streaming platform.

Even with the disappointing flatness of the action sequences, the vast majority of the season is a gorgeous joy to behold, making it a rarest of sci-fi TV shows that's likely to age shockingly well in the years to come.
