American Gods: 11 Things You Need To Know
9. The Cast Is Stacked
Being a story with epic scope, not to mention featuring an impending war, there are a lot of characters in American Gods, and fittingly the cast for the TV adaptation is absolutely stacked. Almost every role feels perfectly cast, with a lot of talent running throughout.
This includes Orange is the New Black's Pablo Schreiber, as Mad Sweeney; Emily Browning as Laura Moon; Crispin Glover as Mr World; Yetide Badaki as Bilquis; and Bruce Langley as Technical Boy. That's a heady mix of established vets, character actors, and exciting newcomers, and that's just the main cast.
Peering deeper into the show's bench, you'll find Gillian Anderson, Orlando Jones, Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Stormare, Beth Grant (obviously, this is a Bryan Fuller show after all), and many, many more. It's a similar approach to casting (recognisable names and faces, but no stunt casting or A-listers) to the ones we've seen taken by the likes of Game of Thrones and Westworld, and should once again pay dividends here.
