The theory behind Operation Top Hat isn't the only clue to suggest that aliens may feature heavily in the upcoming season. Fans have also spotted a number of small clues throughout the Freak Show episodes that all allude to the extra-terrestrials returning in the fall. Key among these is the character played by Jessica Lange, who performs the song Life On Mars and is even called Elsa Mars. Another hint may lie in the Freak Show's location, which just so happens to be Jupiter, Florida. Murphy has since denied these speculations, stating the show is called American Horror Story and not Intergalactic Horror Story, but this doesn't necessarily mean that the aliens won't appear, just that they could only appear in an American Earth-based setting. This wouldn't be the first time that Murphy has misled fans, after he previously said that a circus location was out of the question for Season 4, only to then use an extremely similar Freak Show setting which contained many circus-like elements. Sneaky bastard.
