Arden wasn't the only disturbed individual featured in Asylum, as the inhabitants of Briarcliff also had to deal with the trail of murder and violence left by the deranged serial killer Bloody Face. Later revealed to be Dr Oliver Thredson, the psychotic killer began his reign of terror in the 1960's, murdering people in the comfort of their own homes. Fans of the show will remember that each episode from the first series of AHS opened with a violent flashback of sorts. Looking back at the second episode, a group of female nursing students are killed in a home invasion similar to those enacted by Bloody Face in the following season. The timeline prevents this from being the direct work of Bloody Face though, as Asylum is set around 1964 and this specific flashback occurs in 1968. However, there's still a possibility that the murders could be connected in some way, perhaps as the work of a copycat killer? The link is admittedly tenuous, but fans are struggling to connect Murder House with the other seasons so far, so let's give them this one at least.
