American Horror Story: 10 Most Hated Episodes

9. Rest In Pieces (S9E8)

American Horror Story
FX

American Horror Story's ninth season, 1984, started promising for most fans.

But by the time the season reached its penultimate episode, Rest in Pieces, fans were once again left with the familiar AHS plot lines and habit of the writers to create filler episodes when they run out of ideas.

The needless time jump to 1989, introduction of new characters while sidelining more interesting ones, and an over explanation of Final Girls confirmed to many fans this season would end on a whimper.

The episode is filled with the familiar ghosts trapped in a location doing what they do familiar to American Horror Story fans, but they slow the pace. Some loose-ends were tied up, but not in a satisfying way.

In other words, it's simply another filler episode that many felt had little-to-no impact on the overall story. But there were still good moments that kept the episode from being the worst of the series.

And though some fans would argue the acting in this episode in particular was weak, others would argue it perfectly captured the theme of the season.

80s slasher flicks were themselves notorious for bad acting and some strange plot lines. But with the first half of the season considered fairly strong acting-wise, perhaps it was the flaws in the writing that were the true issue.

However, Ramirez's love for Billy Idol did provide some entertaining scenes.
