American Horror Story: 10 Questions We Have For The Coven/Murder House Crossover

8. Have We Seen The Last Of Misty Day?

American Horror Story Murder House Coven

While American Horror Story isn't really known for its sweetness and light, some of the show's most iconic characters have had wonderfully happy (ish) endings. Sister Jude in Asylum, Elsa Mars in Freak Show, and Cordelia Foxx in Coven all received some sort of justice in their final scenes on their respective seasons, with the majority of them all experiencing true happiness for the first time. Unfortunately, the extremely popular Misty Day (Lily Rabe) wasn't one of the lucky ones.

Throughout Coven, Misty was put forward as one of witches that could potentially become the next Supreme. The optimistic witch was treated to everything she could've ever wanted over the course of the season, including a proper family and an impromptu singing session with Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks, but she met her demise in the final episode when she went to hell and was unable to return. She was forced to live her worst memory over and over again for all of eternity.

Fans of the show were understandably upset that the purest character received a fate worse than death. But now that we're returning to the world of Coven, perhaps this would be a good opportunity to right this terrible wrong. If the villainous Papa Legba (Lance Reddick) returns, then it might be possible to bring Misty back from hell.
