1. The Deviation From The Present

There's no denying that viewers needed more information in regards to Michael Langdon and his shady past, but a whole flashback episode wasn't really what we had in mind. AHS has always had an odd narrative structure, with flashbacks being inserted left, right and centre and usually this is appreciated.

While the information given in this episode was of paramount relevance to the overall narrative, it was annoying that the writers chose to devote an entire episode to the character right now, just when things were picking up in the post-apocalyptic world. Make no mistake, the problem is not with the flashback itself, but rather the decision to do it now.
