2. Kai Anderson (Cult)
Cult gave Evan Peters the chance to hit audiences with his best-ever performance. During the season, Kai Anderson was driven by hatred and rage, and was willing to do everything in his power to form an army and make America a better place. His motives and backstory make him both twisted and endearing, and Peters' performance drives home every aspect of Kai's fractured mental state.
As the season progressed, more and more was revealed about where Kai came from and what he wanted to achieve, so every time you thought you had him pinned down, something new would come along a throw a spanner in the works. Kai is insanely complex and unpredictable, and watching him episode after episode was an absolute joy - albeit a terrifying one.
The fact that Peters didn't get any major award nominations for this season will forever be a mystery.
