American Horror Story: Ranking Every Evan Peters Character From Worst To Best

7. Jimmy Darling

Evan Peters American Horror Story
FX

While there were a few things that Freak Show got very wrong, Jimmy Darling certainly wasn't one of them. The young lad was born with a rare deformity, which earned him the nickname Lobster Boy, and his ostracisation from society played a big part in helping viewers instantly connect with him.

Of course, like with many of American Horror Story's greatest characters, there were a few bumps throughout Jimmy's character arc, and he was subjected to some severe suffering too, but his inability to give up is what made him such a fan favourite. His tribulations paid off, however, as Jimmy got everything he ever wanted out of life during the final episode - a creative decision that deserves to be applauded, as it was really great to see the underdog succeed in a show where they often do not.

Although fans love to see Peters portraying horrifying psychopaths, the talented actor proved here (and also in Asylum) that he is equally good at playing the underdog. Jimmy is the moral compass of Freak Show, and the season simply wouldn't have been as enjoyable without him.
