While Peters took on the roles of several real-life individuals throughout Cult, he also appeared as notorious serial killer Charles Manson in a separate instalment of the presidential election-inspired series.

Manson's appearance is different to that of the others, as he doesn't pop up via flashbacks, but rather via Kai's own imagination, as the blue-haired psychopath finds comfort in communicating with him - a narrative thread that continued for two episodes.

The whole idea was a little contrived - and cliché - to say the least. However, Manson's presence did encourage Kai to continue his work, so you could argue that said presence was necessary. Overall, Peters did a great job, and was very convincing.
