American Horror Story: Ranking Every Evan Peters Character From Worst To Best
11. Jeff
While Cult saw Peters take on numerous roles, Apocalypse was the first time that he featured in a leading capacity with more than one character. Jeff popped up a little over halfway through the end-of-the-world-themed season, appearing frequently until the season's conclusion.
Unfortunately, the character failed to live up to our expectations. Considering Peters' first character in Apocalypse - who was far superior to Jeff - had been killed off quite early on, we were hoping that we'd get an even better character second time around. What we weren't expecting was Jeff.
The character serves little purpose to the narrative, and comes across as nothing more than a plot device, used to steer Michael Langdon in the right direction. While this would normally be an acceptable reason for a character's existence, it's the fact that Jeff is about as one dimensional as could be that's disappointing. He has no character journey and does little but deliver self-indulgent monologues that waste precious time.
Jeff is nothing more than a caricature, and while his attempts at humour add a little levity to dark world of Apocalypse, the character ultimately falls flat. Peters does his best with the material that he's given, but there's no hiding the fact that Jeff simply doesn't belong in American Horror Story.
