American Horror Story: Ranking Sarah Paulson's Characters From Worst To Best

2. Cordelia Foxx

Sarah Paulson American Horror Story
FX

Paulson has played many a character on American Horror Story, but Cordelia Foxx is without a doubt the purest of them all.

The character, who first appeared in Coven, endured quite a lot of hardship during the show, and was often punished by her mother for not being good enough. She lost her sight (twice), and suffered many losses throughout the season, but it was all worth it in the end because - just like the classic underdog story - Cordelia came out on top when she was revealed to be the Supreme.

AHS is known for its dark characters, which is what makes Cordelia such an anomaly. She's incredibly multifaceted, but she's not remotely cruel or evil, nor is she hardened by her experiences. She's as pure as they come, and would put her life on the line to save her fellow witches - something we've seen in more detail during Apocalypse.

There's very little not to like about Cordelia Foxx. Moreover, Paulson turns in a great performance every single time she inhabits this character. Cordelia is a symbol of light - of hope - in the darkness. As she said herself, she's the f**king Supreme.
