American Horror Story: Ranking Sarah Paulson's Characters From Worst To Best
5. Sally McKenna
While Paulson has a habit of playing the moral compass of each American Horror Story season, Hotel provided her with an opportunity to do something else. Like Wilhemina Venable, Sally McKenna was unlike any of Paulson's other characters from the show, and proved to be a force to be reckoned with. She was anything but moral, and her unpredictable behaviour made her one of Hotel's biggest draws.
What's more, Sally's unique style made her one of AHS' most recognisable characters.
She wasn't only visually captivating, however, as she had an equally enthralling backstory. Sally was a drug addict and having been killed by Iris on the grounds of the Hotel Cortez, she was forced to live out her afterlife trapped in the hotel, feuding with her murderer for all of eternity.
Yes, Hypodermic Sally was as troubled as one could be and, unlike say Cordelia Foxx or Lana Winters, she didn't care about the consequences of her actions. However, the sad truth of Sally's story is that she simply wanted to be shown affection and love, and she ultimately found what she was looking for in her fellow hotel-dwellers, giving her twisted tale a somewhat uplifting conclusion.
