American Horror Story: Ranking Sarah Paulson's Characters From Worst To Best
4. Audrey Tindall
While Paulson has played multiple parts in a single season of American Horror Story, the reasoning for her doing so in Roanoke was rather different. After portraying the fictionalised version of Shelby Miller, Paulson would go on to play the 'actress' behind the character, Audrey Tindall, for the remainder of the season.
While many complained that Paulson's British accent wasn't up to scratch, the character's over-enthusiasm was somewhat infectious. What's more, Audrey went on quite a journey over the course of four short episodes, transforming from snotty actress to badass survivor. Perhaps her most attractive quality, however, was how unintentionally humorous she was.
Audrey's inability to cope in stressful situations is what provided much of the comic relief during what was arguably the most terrifying batch of episodes AHS has ever produced. Her quips were needed to lighten the tone and it was once again nice to see Paulson doing something different.
Audrey's death was something of a disappointment and one of the only times in AHS history that a death has felt contrived and unwarranted. Since viewers were made aware of the fact that only one character would survive the Blood Moon massacre, fans largely hoped that Audrey's determination and character development would've ensured it would be her to survive the hellish night.
