Another 20 Nostaglic TV Theme Tunes We Just Can’t Let Go

4. Crystal Maze (1990)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dy553E_oa0 Probably as famous as Blockbusters this was the British game show EVERYBODY wanted to play on. Hosted by Richard O' Brien for four of it's six seasons the programme was essentially a puzzle show which mixed everything from hard work and maths with skill and historical knowledge. The original theme for The Crystal Maze was composed by Zack Laurence and is entitled Force Field. It was used through all six series. The original track is 1:05 long; however it was shortened to roughly 50 seconds for the opening titles and varied between 40 and 1:40 seconds for closing credits. The "Underscore" remix of the theme tune played during the show itself was also composed by Zack Laurence. "Can you start the fans please!"

First studied Journalism in Ireland in 2003, returning to Sunderland University on the tenth anniversary of my first studies in the subject to continue towards an MA. Interested in all sorts including WWE, Music, Film, TV and Games. Has travelled around a bit to places like California, Ontario and Mexico and plans to do more of the same soon again. Recently I've been writing pieces on my favourite topics which have included obscure theme music from nostalgic shows, Guns N' Roses and a few other surprises I'll be happy to share in time!
