Archer: 5 Reasons It's The Best Animated Series On TV

1. Jessica Walters

Malory Archer It's Jessica Walters, people. Also royally referred to as Lucille Bluth. There are a few corollaries between Archer and Arrested Development (seriously, you haven't decided that you're going to watch every episode of Archer yet?) including voice-acting turns from Jeffrey Tambor and David Cross (along with, as previously mentioned, Judy Greer as Cheryl) but Jessica Walters takes the cake here. She seems to have a knack for characters who birth sons with mild to not-so-mild oedipal issues (here's looking at you, Buster) and not showing an inkling of affection towards them unless €“ of course €“ it benefits or threatens her. As a result, she's goddam delightful. As manipulative and self-involved as every other character, her remarks are acidic and her actions terrible. If you didn't gleefully delight in her musty old claptrap on Arrested Development, or if you want more, then Archer is the place to go. Honestly, there isn't a single reason not to indulge in Archer, codename: Duchess, whether it's for Lana's gargantuan hands, Malory's whiskey-on-ISIS, Cyril's desire for penis ensmallment surgery, Cheryl's mild psychosis and pet ocelot, Pam's crude toilet-humor - often while she's on the toilet, or even just to see an animated Burt Reynold's magnum it up. And to think, I didn't even cover Archer's nemesis, Barry.
