Archer: EVERY Season Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season Four
These last three positions could have been different on any other day. Today, Season Four takes the runner up spot. This is one of the most perfect seasons of animated television ever produced, and not a single beat is missed throughout its entire run. This season wasn't just hilarious (though it really was), it was also completely engaging.
Season Four is focused on Sterling more than ever. The insights into his madness, anxieties, insecurities, and self-destructiveness are more powerful and consuming than ever, and like a cherry on top you've also got one-off episodes which are just untouchable. There's Woodhouse imitating the Pope, a brilliantly executed Hell's Kitchen spoof, and the whole "Sea Tunt" arc which is nothing short of perfect.
This is animated comedy at its best - sharp, blunt, in your face and daring with every line. But as ever, it is the interactions between the protagonists that make the season, from Sterling's talks with Mallory and Lana, Cheryl and Pam's bizarre friendship, and Ray's blunt and sassy observational skills.
This is how it's done.
