Arrested Development Season 5: 18 WTF Moments
14. The Imagine Entertainment Gift Shop
In another gloriously meta twist, Imagine Entertainment - the show's actual production company - was introduced last season, and it was featured yet again early in season five.
Michael ends up visiting Kitty (Judy Greer) at Imagine in an attempt to pull the plug on the planned movie about his family, but she claims that Ron Howard's already started prepping production and "already started paying off the Hollywood Foreign Press" (the notoriously sketchy collective who votes on the Golden Globes).
Kitty ends up kicking Michael off the movie and paying him severance in "Imagine dollars", $100 bills bearing Ron Howard's face which are only redeemable in the Imagine gift shop (producer Brian Grazer's face is apparently on the $50 bill).
As for the gift shop itself? It's got Howard and Grazer wigs - which becomes a semi-important plot point later - and because of their competitiveness, you can only buy them as a set. Hilarious.
