10. Oliver And Ray Team Up
Season 3 has seen the introduction of a divisive new character in the form of genius billionaire Ray Palmer. Despite being presented as a hero, the character has managed to alienate many fans by usurping Olivers journey. Until very recently, Ray spent so much of his time in a whimsical world of technobabble that he hasnt felt like a fit within the narrative of Oliver Queen. Paired almost exclusively with Felicity, his humor has always fallen flat without a straight man to sell the silliness. The trailer for the rest of the season indicates that Ray may have found a way to entertain. The contrast between the enthusiastic Ray and the disciplined Oliver has the potential to provide a bit of fun before everything goes downhill for the finale. Ray perhaps coming to terms with the fact that building a supersuit does not translate into combat readiness gives control of the suit to master martial artist Oliver to battle a bad guy while the Arrow is out of commission, granting Ray some relevancy and allowing Oliver to remain in on the action. Besides, any plot twist that gives Oliver the opportunity to make Ray punch himself in the face is automatically awesome. Oliver may be dour and disciplined, but surely hes not above a game of Quit hitting yourself! with Felicitys new boyfriend.
