Arrow: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Stephen Amell

10. He Was A Spinning Instructor

Amell is obviously in extremely good shape, which helps for his character on Arrow, but was also paying off long before he was cast as the man in the hood. Back when he was first starting to break into acting he worked as a spinning instructor to support himself between jobs. Now that he€™s famous, he gets messages on social media from people he telling him that he used to teach them, and that they miss him as an instructor. If the acting lark goes drastically wrong somehow, at least he has something to fall back on. In a case of art imitating life, Amell€™s first role came back in 2004 on the TV series Queer As Folk, where he played€ a spinning instructor.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
