Arrow: 4 Characters That Absolutely Cannot Die (And 4 That Can)

1. Felicity Smoak

Who She Is: Felicity Smoak, M.I.T. class of '09, is the computer genius extraordinaire without whom Team Arrow would be nothing but a group of physically fit folks in leather and masks. Her lightness despite occasional immersion in the thundercloud that follows Oliver Queen around has made her invaluable to keeping the show something other than a total angst-fest. Oliver's fiancee as of the end of the midseason finale, Felicity has arguably become the most important female character on Arrow. Why She Can't Die: There are an awful lot of problems that can't be fixed by punching, and Felicity is how Team Arrow finds most of the bad guys and gathers most of the information instrumental to taking them down. The show needs for there to exist a Team Arrow, and Team Arrow absolutely needs Felicity. More important, however, is that Oliver absolutely needs Felicity. Arrow is still Oliver's show, and characters' relevance can be ultimately be measured by the importance of their relationships with Oliver. The only character to whom Oliver's growth as a character has been consistently connected has been Felicity. Besides, no way could Oliver get over her death after how their relationship has been built up. Oliver in the flashforward was not a man who had lost the love of his life.
