Arrow: 6 Things That "Sara" Did Right (And 3 It Didn't)

The Good:

6. Progress On Thea

Season 2 was a rough time for Thea Queen. Deprived of agency in just about every area of her life, it was difficult to blame her for joining up with her diabolical biological dad in the finale. Malcolm Merlyn may have been the architect of a plot that destroyed a large portion of Starling City and led to the deaths of more than 500 innocent civilians, but he was always honest with Thea, and having the charm of John Barrowman certainly didn't hurt. Everybody would have at least thought about getting into the limo with him, and her surprise appearance at the end of "Sara" proved that father and daughter did not spend the hiatus idly. Sporting a kicky new haircut and thriving under the tutelage of a man who encourages ninja fighting in the foyer, Thea looks to be a whole new entity for Oliver to deal with in Season 3. It remains to be seen whether she is merely playing the role of doting daughter and hiding an agenda of her own or if she has truly latched onto Malcolm, but it's at least promising that she hasn't so much resigned herself to her new life as thrown herself into it. Besides, it's good that she's seen the sunny side of her situation. The knowledge of her true paternity may have come at the cost of learning that everybody that she loved had spent the better part of two years lying to her and the realization that she once tried to make out with her half-brother, but at least she knows that she's going to age phenomenally.
