Arrow: 6 Things That "Left Behind" Did Right (And 4 It Didn't)
2. A New Big Bad
Season 3 has largely been a series of standalone instalments focusing of Villains Of The Week. Cupid and Captain Boomerang were interesting additions to the Arrow gallery of rogues, and Ra's al Ghul certainly made an impression, but there has been a distinct lack of new threats to the good guys of Starling City. Until now. Starring as the villain of a trilogy, former footballer Vinnie Jones oozes menace in his portrayal of Danny Brickwell. Orchestrating a plot to undo Team Arrow's off-screen efforts and free a slew of thugs from prison, Brick promises to leave a trail of blood and destruction in the wake of his war to take over the Glades. With unnatural strength and the seeming ability to bounce bullets off of his skull, Brick may be a whole new breed of criminal. There's nothing cute or kitschy about him, and it's hard to imagine him spouting puns about his weapons of choice. Who knows, Danny Brickwell may just be big enough and bad enough that the upcoming rise of Canary 2.0 will actually make some sense.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
