Arrow: 6 Ups And 5 Downs From The Season 4 Premiere 'Green Arrow'

6. Down - John And Oliver's Broken Bond

Oliver Arrow Season 4
The CW

It's pretty understandable why Diggle is struggling to forgive Oliver and trust him again. Someone kidnapping your wife and leaving your baby daughter home alone is going to p*ss you off quite a bit (I'm guessing - thankfully I can't say that it's ever happened to me (having a wife and daughter, that is)).

Just because the reasoning is solid, though, doesn't make it an ideal situation for the show to find itself in. They attempt to wring as much drama out of the betrayal as possible in the season premiere, but after about the 4th of Diggle's rebukes to Oliver's attempts at reconciliation, with plenty of angry glances and challenges to his authority along the way, it started to feel a little more forced.

Diggle and Oliver are the two original heroes of the show, and along with Felicity form the heart and soul of Team Arrow. They can get some tension out of them feuding, but it's a lot better when they're working together, trusting each other, and are friends. Hopefully the show will get back to that before too long.
